About me
I am a Ph.D. computer scientist working in the fields of AI/ML and software engineering. My career has spanned multiple sectors that are critical to north Alabama’s economy: telecommunications, university research and instruction, NASA, and the Department of Defense. My open-source contributions include Perl and git.
Personal
My wife Samantha and I reside in north Alabama and have three children. I am a graduate of the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science and was honored to accept an appointment from Gov. Kay Ivey in 2025 to the ASMS Board of Directors.
I completed the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, all in Computer Science. The title of my dissertation is “Toward Measurable Explainable Ethical AI: An LLM-Driven Data Analytics Study.”
Current Work
I serve as Chief Technology Officer at OASYS, INC., a small business headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama with other locations around the United States. I teach as an adjunct instructor for the UAH Computer Science Department.
An instrument-rated commercial pilot (Airplane Single-Engine Land) and flight instructor, I am a CFI with the Redstone Arsenal Flying Activity.
Research Interests
My research interests include LLMs, cybersecurity, computability, complexity, composability, requirements formalization, and digital engineering.
