Removing Static from Music Using a Back-Propagation Neural Network

Our team from the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science was one of multiple winners who got to attend the SuperQuest Summer Institute at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, where we worked with where we worked with Dr. John Ziebarth, his colleagues at the UAH Computer Science Department, and scientists at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Our project used a back-propagation neural network to remove static from music. We optimized our software on UAH infrastructure and using resources at the Alabama Supercomputer Authority.
